Gen 5-7 | PS 3:1-8 | Prov 1:10-19 | Matt 3:7-4:11

In 2 Peter 3:10 speaks of a time when God will once again destroy the earth, this time it will be by fire. In our reading in Genesis 5-7 today we read of the first time that God decided to destroy the earth. So, it serves us well to consider just how bad things were for God to decide to destroy all of life with the exception of those on the ark. We read in Genesis 6:2,4, "The sons of God saw the beautiful women and took any they wanted as their wives...In those days, and for some time after, giant Nephilites lived on the earth, for whenever the sons of God had intercourse with women, they gave birth to children who became the heroes and famous warriors of ancient times." We read of what the earth looked like with these giants on the earth in Genesis 6:5, 11, "The Lord observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil... Now God saw that the earth had become corrupt and was filled with violence." Though few consider just what it meant to have the sons of God who were angels have sexual relations with humans, we make a grave error in taking this event lightly.

I'm currently reading a book by Rick Renner titled, "Fallen Angels, Giants, Monsters and the World Before the Flood, How the Events of Noah's Ark and the Flood are Relevant to the End of the Age". We need to understand from the creation account in Genesis 1 that a recurring phrase was that His creation was to produce offspring "of the same kind" (Genesis 1:21, 25). God called His creation "very good" in 1:31. When these certain angels had sexual relations with human women, they created offspring, monstrous offspring that God never created. Though we only have a few verses of Scripture describing this there is a volume of additional respected and reliable information which can be read in the apocryphal book of Enoch, the ancient texts of the book of Jasher, the book of Jubilees, the book of Giants, in addition to much writing from the early church fathers such as Clement, Justin Martyr, Eusebius, etc. This portion of the book of Enoch is also referenced in Scripture by both Peter (2 Peter 2:4-5), and Jude (1:6-7). From these writings it appears that during the time of Jared (lineage of Adam in Genesis 5), 200 "watchers" or angels made the decision to enter earth's domain and have sexual relations with human women. The Giants were a brutal breed, who not only took everything they wanted from the humans, but eventually began to kill and eat one another, and eventually killed and engaged in cannibalism. They also taught the humans much evil: black magic, strange sacrifices, libations, etc. These events corrupted God's creation, and perhaps part of Satan's reason was to corrupt the Seed leading to the Messiah as prophesied in Genesis 3:15.

We look at our world and often wonder, if we will be destroyed by nuclear warfare, by an EMP, by some pandemic, by global warfare, etc. But we need look no further than in science, new technology, etc. We have created the first mixing of human DNA with that of pigs to create the first human-pig hybrid embryos for the purported benefit of being able to enhance organ transplants into humans. We are surrounded in our stores with products marked "GMO" or "Genetically Modified Organism". We are playing with DNA with CRISPR technology to "edit out" genetic characteristics. All being done "for the greater good" of society. Don't minimize transgenderism. God created these individuals' male or female. When medications and surgical procedures are performed, they are essentially telling God that He somehow made a mistake. We should not laugh or take lightly those who call themselves "furries", who identify as animals. We care way too much about feelings and not enough about reality. We should also not minimize AI. There is a major push towards transhumanism which will create human-machine chimeras or hybrids. As one Yuval Noah Harari put it, "We are really acquiring divine powers of creation and destruction. We are really upgrading humans into gods." Yet the world is embracing AI for fear of losing their competitive edge in the marketplace. Right in front of our eyes we are recreating events which God judged once before with a worldwide flood. God never overlooks. He is patient. Though none of us know the time day or the hour (Matthew 24:36), understand our world is rapidly moving forward to create our demise.
