There are no shortcuts to acquiring wisdom. Attaining wisdom takes time, meditating over knowledge, learning how to apply this information. But I shudder to think of what becomes of our next generation and to wisdom in our quest for immediate knowledge. AI is now being inserted in every area of the globe. What becomes of education when all one needs to do is ask a question and have AI spit out the information. Why seek out legal advice or medical advice if one needs only to ask the questions. People are being fooled. In our laziness and desire for instantaneous results we are dumbing down society and destroying what God has made us for. We are meant to be social, yet most don't realize just how wrong it is to work isolated. How will evangelism occur, when no one even sees one another. Doctors are now trained to blindly follow guidelines and protocols while the individuality of the patient has fallen to the wayside. We are only seeing the beginning of the dismantling of our society as wisdom becomes a thing of the past. Continue to ask your search engines to do this or that and see over time what happens to your minds. Continue to have your vehicles drive for you and see how much further your mind loses its sharpness. Each and every one of us is making decisions moment by moment to grow in wisdom or ignorance. As all things, God allows us the choice.
The new and young king, Solomon could have asked for anything, but we read the exchange between Solomon and God that took place in a dream in 1 Kings 3:7-10, " “Now, O Lord my God, you have made me king instead of my father, David, but I am like a little child who doesn’t know his way around. And here I am in the midst of your own chosen people, a nation so great and numerous they cannot be counted! Give me an understanding heart so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong. For who by himself is able to govern this great people of yours?” The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for wisdom." When it was time for the apostles to expand we read of the qualification they sought after in Acts 6:3, "And so, brothers, select seven men who are well respected and are full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will give them this responsibility."
Without even realizing it as so many of us, even in the faith, depend more and more on AI, the mere acquisition of knowledge rather than ruminating on the deeper things of the Lord we are rendering more and more unusable for the Lord. Wisdom and knowledge are not the same. The purpose of the One Year Bible Challenge is to go through God's Word in its entirety year after year. It is meant for us to both read and ruminate and apply. The reason why I simply don't use my same commentaries year after year is because I want to spend time afresh in His Word, seeking out what He is speaking forth to me at this time in these circumstances. Please rely less on AI, on search engines, and spend time in the simplicity of His Word and allow yourselves to sit under God's wisdom. It takes time but it is so worth it.
