"Our greatest outlet of spiritual power is prayer. I can do more for God through prayer than I can through any other means, including service. Prayer binds the strong man of the house, whereas service is going in and taking the spoil. I can do more than pray after I have prayed, but I really can't do more than pray until I have prayed. My service to God, though important, is limited to one place. Prayer, however, is limitless in its scope. It can reach around the world.
Through prayer I can spend one-half hour of my life in South America, doing work for the kingdom of God by strengthening the hands of the missionaries. Then I can go to Mexico and spend some time with my friends who are ministering there. I can help them in their ministry by praying for the effectiveness of the tracts they distribute and the words they speak. Then I can move into China and pray for the church there. I can touch a world for God through prayer right from my own closet."
- Pastor Chuck Smith • “Effective Prayer Life”
Pastor Lloyd would like to invite and encourage members of our fellowship to join together and “pray without ceasing” for:
• Members and ministries of our fellowship
• Missionaries sent out from CCOB and other churches
• Our nation, our president, our government, and other leaders
• The nation Israel and the peace of Jerusalem
• The persecuted church around the world
• Others needs and opportunities brought to us for prayer
Simply sign up and commit to pray for one hour each week! Our vision is that collectively CCOB would be “praying without ceasing”– twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week!
You can sign up as an individual, a family, a home group, or with a prayer partner(s). Here's how:
1. Check this calendar for available time slots
2. Email us and indicate desired slot
3. Download this week’s Prayer Guide (updated each Wednesday)
4. Learn how to set up prayer reminders.
“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we will have the petitions that we have asked of Him (1 John 5:14-15).
