Precious Promises! |
|
When you think of making a promise, what comes to mind?
We make promises to others and to ourselves. We promise to help friends, to cut back on junk food, and to exercise more. We make promises every day. Some are serious and important, like the promise to remain faithful to a spouse. Other promises are important but not as serious, like a dad promising to play ball with his child. And as we all know, our promises sometimes are kept and other times broken, with various consequences.
But consider for a moment - what kind of promises does GOD make?
God makes promises to His children like no human father can make. God's promises are eternal, lasting, precious promises. For instance, the Holy Spirit promises to help in our weaknesses and to make intercessions on our behalf. God promises that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. God promises that NOTHING can separate us from His love - neither death or life nor angels nor principalities nor powers nor things present nor things to come!
All of these extraordinary assurances are found in one chapter of Scripture, Romans 8:19-39. God makes these remarkable promises, and is faithful to keep them!
Join me this week on Bridging the Gap as we explore these extraordinary passages, and enjoy the Lord's precious promises!
